Not since the incredible "Mind Blower" by Coach Keith Grabowski, have I been this impressed by anything out in the cyberspace.
I was able "enroll" in this Teachable course. And I was blown away at the sheer amount of content. Over HOURS and HOURS of videos!
Ten Chapters of information include
Welcome
RPO Overview
The Keys To Learning Any RPO
The Run
The Pass
The Option
Why Do RPOs Fail?
How to Protect RPOs?
Bonus Material
Next Steps
Here is a small preview of the course...
This course is not just for a coach, but a fan or player. Coach O'Sullivan details each part of the RPO. What pass options he likes best. Here is one example.
Coach O'Sullivan use the Power Playbook from Just Plays Sports Solutions.
This short article cannot do justice to Coach's course. You just need to "enroll" in it.
You can follow him on Twitter... in two places!
Oh, and he has a YouTube channel that is excellent.
In addition to the RPO course, Coach O'Sullivan has two other Teachable courses. So much content, how can anyone sleep?
And here is a freebie from Coach!
Coach O'Sullivan loves to talk ball... He has been on Coach McKie's channel several times.
Okay so it may be pricey.... whatever...
It is a high end product. No echo or no lighting issues. Annotations are spot on thanks to a Wacom tablet and Epic Pen tool (Soooo cool, I bought both!). BUT, Coach O'Sullivan is always running specials for his courses, be on the lookout. But really the price of the course may be equal to what you could have spent on hotel rooms, beverages, and food this past year. The difference... This expands your mind not your waistline. And never goes away.
Note: Be aware this course is long! It takes time to digest! I did watch sections several times.
RPO stands for Run Pass Option, but in Coach O'Sullivan's course it should stand for REALLY, PRETTY, OUTSTANDING.

Do you have access to HUDL Playbook? If so, lets Clinic.
Guys, posted below is a video on how we can share plays and
become a better coach this off-season by using HUDL Playbook to clinic with
each other. Watch the video and then email me your favorite play using HUDL
Playbook and I will send 2 back your way. PLUS, I will add your name to the
document below so that other coaches can share with you as well!
I presented last March on the SNAG CONCEPT at the Southeastern Wing-T Clinic in Dublin, Georgia. Hosted by Dublin High School. It was a great clinic and I would like to thank the Dublin staff for the opportunity to share my knowledge. I
As always, for more information email me or ask below or find me on twitter at @tbanks1906
"Don’t change the play, change the
presentation." Noel Mazzone
As all of us use the offseason to research changes and updates to our offenses, I have come to one conclusion, FIND multiple ways to run the
same play and not add several new plays. An example of this lies with "America’s
RPO"… Zone-Stick!
Just as my brain has recovered from last year's MIND BLOWER, I get word that Coach Grabowski has a new "book" near completion. Actually, a series is planned....So I look for the tin foil and prepare myself!
Finally I get an email from Coach Grabowski alerting me of the arrival and a short note... "I apologize in advance for your head exploding."
So once again, the beauty of this "book" is it's portability. Yea, I know all books are portable but once again, this is more than a book.
Places I was able to "read" it
My office
On the exercise bike
During my son's soccer practice (take that futbol)
Starbucks
My truck
The Man Cave
Our living room
As I start the book, my imagination wanders and I think...
All it took was the first interactive to be impressed. This book is more than a MIND BLOWER, it is an EXPERIENCE!
In return for this experience, I plan to do something different. I am going to add some short video clips of the "book". I will point out that my speaking voice is made for blogging and not vlogging...
Next, Coach Grabowski did step up the quote factor (sorry Coach Gonzales). Heraclitus, James Joyce, Albert Einstein, Knute Rockne, Aristotle, Jim Rohn to name a few....
My Favorite is from Albert Einstein...
"Out of the clutter, find simplicity"
The series is broken down into 4 parts. Parts 1-3 are available now and part 4 is coming soon.
Coach Grabowski starts with a guided self reflection. As this clinic season winds down, many coaches are trying to add the newest "play of the week". My head coach recently said "That is why I don't like to go to clinics...there are too many plays I see and want!" Smart football coaches attend clinics to see what is new and what could fit into their offensive scheme. As coach Grabowski explains...
"Many coaches adhere to the philosophy of 'revolution' instead of 'evolution'."
He goes on to say
"What I would actually like to convey in this series is a thought process for looking at offense. I don't' claim that we do it better than anyone else, but I do believe in building on a sound foundation, and in sharing how we do it. I hope to spur thinking that can help in evolving your offense, or choose to radically change your system, provide a process in which you can streamline your adaptation and reduce your learning curve by focusing on the right questions you should be thinking about."

I will admit I was disappointed to see all the I FORMATION "stuff". I just figured Coach Grabowski was being sympathetic to those two coaches down south, to remain nameless...
You are lucky I didn't post the shirtless picture!
When it comes down to the player chapters, every one is like a mini clinic.
Breakdown of blocking using screen shots!
Below are four pictures taken from the KEYNOTE blocking progression for the Line.
I have known these coaches for years and have learned a ton from them!
A great opportunity and very cost effective! Below is an email from Coach Alison
We are hosting a fast n furious coaching clinic in Springfield, IL on March 8, 2014.
The clinic is taught by
Ken Leonard (Head Coach at Sacred Heart-Griffin HS)
Derek Leonard (Head Coach at Rochester High School)
John Allison (Offensive Coordinator at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School)
It is a coaching system that we have been doing a few years now and
generally do on just a single school by school basis.
Normally the cost for the clinic is $750.
We are having a larger one day clinic and opening it up to a maximum of 8 schools.
Because we are doing several at the same time, we are lowering the cost for the one day clinic to $300.
That includes bringing your entire staff with all access to the materials on Hudl.
The clinic will last for at least 8 hours and will begin at 9:00 am.
For more information please see the attachment.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
Rochester H.S. Set record for most offensive yards in a season in 2012.
Sacred Heart-Griffin H.S. set Illinois State scoring record in 2013.

I’m always looking to expand my library with worthwhile resources. One key for me is that I can reference the material more than once. I have experience running the Gun Option Run game for the last 10 years. I have seen it evolve a lot over this period of time. Zone Read, Veer Option, Midline Option, and now Dash Option. My favorite is the Veer Option, well actually it is Midline but it always seems to get my QB beat up too much…
My first exposure to the Gun Offense taught me that the tailback’s alignment in the Gun Offense started at even depth with the Quarterback.
Next. the tailback moved back so to provide a better mesh.
The problem is that it is a presnap key for the Defense. If the defender
is aligned away from the RB, they would key the RB running ZONE. If the
defender is aligned TO the RB, they would key the QB running ZONE READ
or SPEED OPTION. So put the RB behind the QB and NO PRESNAP KEY!
I had thought of
this idea about six years and then discovered it was Nevada’s base offense.
I referred to it as Power I Gun (PIG for short). Here are some old school clips from that “Era” (Coaching sophomore football…Forgive
me for the crude film job).
I decided to buy the eBook version and am
glad I did! I am able to read it on my Laptop and my iPhone (The iPad mini is a
near future purchase). For the teams I have coached, the Pistol formation has
provided us with a more downhill path for our tailback. When we are in a one
back set, it doesn’t give a presnap key to the Defense.
Coach Vint’s book is well laid out and easy to read.
The book contains sections on:
MIDLINE CONCEPTS
MIDLINE COMPLEMENTS
VEER CONCEPTS
LOAD and LEAD OPTIONS
ZONE READ GAME
TRAP READ CONCEPTS\
COUNTER READ CONCEPTS\
SHOVEL OPTION CONCEPTS
FRONTSIDE READ CONCEPTS
At first glance I thought I found a grammatical error,
complement. But I learned something new from our friends at Google. Complement
I am verbiage junkie. I love to see how other teams call
their formations and plays. Coach Vint uses a number to set his Fullback. It is
easy to learn and flexible. I may look into incorporating this into our offense
next year. Plus the tags are great too! (Boss,Cobra,Cowboy, and Hoss)
Coach Vint uses a phonetic system for his motions. I have
always been torn how to name motions.
Only one name for the motion and
tag the player.
Examples: H Zip, X Zip, S Zip
Motions that are specific to
players.
Examples: GLIDE is only used by
the HB, JET is only used by the SLOT
Use a Phonetic system.
Zip = Z into formation
Fip = F into formation
Yip = Y into the formation
Tip = T into formation
This is still been a challenge for me. Could the players confuse ZIP,FIP,YIP and TIP?
Coach Vint answered
"Never had an issue with it. We rarely have two guys go in motion, and they did a good job of remembering what the ips, aps, and ops meant."
He continued
"I built the system to be simple. The goal was for our athletes to be able to play fast. Our verbage was simple and allowed them to play fast without thinking."
I would have like to see Coach Vint go into more detail
about QB and RB steps for the base plays. However, I did understand all the plays and know that when you are in the gun, you can over-coach the footwork. For a more detailed look, check out an old article.
We are a big two back team, the problem was the backfield
set would give a presnap key. So we decided to try putting both back behind the
QB. I only have one clip…hopefully I will get myself into gear and breakdown
our whole season.
Here are my some of my favorites from the book, for the rest... you gotta buy the book!
I would highly recommend buying this book. Coach Vint did an
excellent job and he is very accessible…
